HELPING STUDENTS...STAY IN SCHOOL

A team of Divine Dignity volunteers delivered 400 dignity bags to the students of Marion-Franklin High School in January. Our volunteers were met by an incredibly friendly staff who were well-prepared to help us distribute the bags to the students at the end of the school day. The students were surprised, excited, and so grateful for the gift of hygiene.

Student comments we heard:

This is awesome. Thank you so much.

I love this deodorant! It fits into my purse or pocket. This is great!

Wow! Soap and a toothbrush! Man, do I need these!

Thank you for being so kind to give us these! I really need them.

A huge thank you to the staff: Crissie, Sarah, Melanie, Carrie, and Ms. Fleming for their kindness and hard work in planning the giveaway. We extend our sincere gratitude to all our donors and volunteers who contributed to helping us purchase and pack 4,000 hygiene products into dignity bags.

Your contributions were delivered with love and kindness to help the young students at Marion-Franklin have better health and hopefully continue to go to school.

HELPING FAMILIES...HAVE HEALTHIER LIVES

In conjunction with our efforts to support students at Marion-Franklin High School, we are pleased to announce the opening of a new hygiene closet at the

Marion-Franklin Community Center. The new center manager, Josh, came from another hygiene partner center, so he is very familiar with the impact of our hygiene bags on a community. We took 40 dignity bags of personal care hygiene to open the closet in January, with 40 hygiene bags of cleaning supplies being delivered in February. We are excited to help the Marion Franklin community families have access to hygienic products every month.

HELPING RURAL COMMUNITIES.....WHO ARE OFTEN OVERLOOKED

A woman in Stout, Ohio, reached out to Divine Dignity, asking for hygiene help for her small rural southern community. The small rural community in southern Ohio has a very high poverty level and is in desperate need of help, including basic hygiene needs. We are supplying hygiene for this event, but would like to open a Divine Dignity Hygiene Closet there to provide ongoing hygiene support.

Here is her request: "I'm reaching out and contacting you in efforts to help our small community of Stout. The poverty level is ridiculously high, and we are a forgotten part of our state. I'm putting together a basic needs community drive for March 7th at our local firehouse. My goal is to help 100 people at this drive, then I plan to become a permanent resource hub for this forgotten part of Adams County.

I'm looking for amazing organizations to join me, and I am wondering if you would be interested. I look forward to hopefully having you join our event. It would be so great for our small rural community, which needs a chance to get back on its feet, together. I want to partner with you all because there's nothing here that provides the products you have, and I could be a hub for that in this community.

Everything about what Divine Dignity does means so much to me, as I'm a domestic violence survivor, free of that for 7 months now. My abuser kept hygiene items from me, so I know that basic needs like that are so appreciated because I wasn’t allowed to really have them for almost 5 years. Divine Dignity is so amazing for providing those things to people as you do!

CAN YOU DONATE TO HELP OPEN A NEW CLOSET IN STOUT?

A donation of $500 a month would help provide hygiene to this rural community in need of dignity, hope, and hygiene.
