A Rural Community’s Plea For Help

Divine Dignity has focused on the urban communities in need in Central Ohio, which remains our priority. But God has opened our eyes to the critical need for hygiene in the impoverished rural areas of Ohio, where hygiene is an enormous unmet need.
One special request came from a wonderful woman named Courtney in Stout, Ohio, an impoverished rural community on the Ohio River near Portsmouth. (We mentioned this community in our last IMPACT newsletter.)

Feeling led to answer her call for help, we took 100 very full hygiene bags to an event she hosted at a fire station in Stout. As Courteny told us, their area is one of the forgotten and neglected parts of our state. We met the kindest, most caring people who are desperately seeking help for their community, decimated by job losses and a lack of support.

As the local community flocked to the event hosted by Courtney and her friends, they were SO grateful to receive bags filled with hygiene necessities, an Easter Gospel tract, and the New Testament. Every person was overwhelmed with appreciation and felt God’s love. We were truly changing lives through hygiene and sharing God’s love and the hope of Jesus with them.
