A Simple Day, a Lasting Impact: UALC Students Serving Together at Divine Dignity

Updated: Jun 16

We had the blessing of spending a really special day with UALC’s middle school students and leaders! They came to our warehouse ready to learn, ready to serve, and they brought so much joy with them.

A group of smiling people pose in a warehouse with yellow bags and boxes. Some wear black "GOSPEL" shirts. The mood is cheerful.

We started by talking about why hygiene matters. Not just the products, but what it means to have the ability to care for yourself. We shared how some of our neighbors go without basics like deodorant or toothpaste, and how that affects confidence, health, and the ability to show up. The students listened closely. They asked thoughtful questions. You could tell they were taking it all in.

After that, we got to work.

They helped pack hundreds of dignity bags for teens and our neighbors experiencing homelessness. They also made cards to tuck inside each bag. Simple, handwritten notes filled with love and encouragement. Every one of those cards is a quiet reminder to someone that they are seen and cared for.

A huge thank-you to Mary Kate Hipp, the UALC youth leaders, and our amazing volunteer Susan Jacoby who helped lead the day with grace, patience, and so much fun!

We’re thankful for the chance to do this work. And we’re especially thankful to do it alongside people of all ages who are learning what it means to share God’s love in simple, practical ways.

Want to bring your group to Divine Dignity? Whether it’s packing bags, making cards, or learning together, we’d love to have you.
